Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
OK folks... i have lead something in the vecinity of 38 raids and been on another 20 or so... here is some basic infor for you tanks in case you get appointed main assist...
Enchanters are one of the main classes in hate to kep our collective butts alive... every 28 seconds or so they have to mezz mobs.. so it is logical we kill the mobs that have the highest Magic Resist first... so here is the list as far as i can tell if any chanter has better info than me please post...
GOLEM ~100%
Female FR and Ashenbone Drake
Toughth Destroyer
Clerics and Chests
Male FR
Banshee
KK
Abhor
Rats, ghouls, specs....
If you have to choose between a rat a ghoul and a spec...
Kill the damn rat first... they have been known to mow down casters quick.
NOW to the raid leaders and Warriors READ THIS about the HAND of MAESTRO and you wont be surprised when you dont get the little hand nor the big hand after a battle.
Hope this helps a bit keeping our hanter friends alive a bit more.

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
I have found that the FR's are much easier to mez than the chests and clerics. I wouldnt even attempt to mez a drake, and yes it is annoying when the rat gets killed first...especially when there are bigger mobs who cant wait for mez to wear off so they can eat me.
The biggest problem for chanters that I have seen in Hate, and other raids, is lack of "assist". Most Hate raids are not so bad with it, but it is VERY upsetting when mezzes kept getting broke because some idiot dot'd a mob, or cant learn how to use the "assist" key. The first person that mob goes after isnt the one who broke mez, its the enchanter. There have been nights where I have died 5 times or more due to this. Thank GOD for clerics :-)

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
Aye...and here's a little bit more info for main tanks and all melee classes in general
For main tanks:
- Call assist as soon as you have drawn the mob back into the gatehouse and you know you have the aggro. I understand that sometimes it takes about 20 seconds to make sure you have the aggro, but too many raids I have been on the main tank wants to get the experience. I've been on some raids where the main assist waited til the mob was at less than half life before calling assist. If you haven't got the aggro before the mob is at 80% life, then please be on the wall with the other tanks, ie. you don't need to be main assist. Hate is just 5-8 groups working in concert with one another...it doesn't matter who gets the xp just so long as everyone works together to keep the raid going smooth and keep everyone alive.
For all others (specially melee classes):
- F8 is not your assist key. If it is or if you don't know how to make an assist key, please don't go on Hate raids. Breaking mez is one of the worst things you can do and should be an offense where if you do it more than once, you are transed to somewhere where you are KoS.
- Wait for assist to be called before attacking. I realize that some main assists wait a long time before calling assist (some even have forgotten to call assist), but that doesn't mean you should jump in and start bashing away before the main tank has drawn the aggro. That is, unless, the main assist is like one of the persons I talk about in my first paragraph, that waits til the mob is less than half life before he calls assist. In which case, healers should stop healing him and everyone just let him tank it by himself..hehe..jk. Really, it is much easier to buff one tank fully and have him draw the aggro off the healers and chanters and heal him rather than everyone drawing aggro and pingponging the mob. And it really gives you away when you get a crit or the mob is hit with a spell before the main tank has called assist.
- If 2 or more spite golems are pulled at the same time, the melee classes divide up and start tanking all the spites. Usually if only 2 spites come, the main assist tanks one with all other melee classes assisting the main ass while the 2nd assist jumps on the other. Only reason why we split the mobs is cause Golems have 100% MR. This keeps the clerics and chanters alive that are trying to heal our butts.
- Lastly, all melees should keep their butts on the wall. Before mobs come in the archway, every tank except for the main and 2nd assist should have their butts on the wall to give the main tank enough room to bring the mob into the room. The main assist should not have to tank the mob out in the chanter area if at all possible. Sometimes the mob doesn't want to cooperate, but most times the main tank is able to pull the mob into the room. Between mobs, all melee classes should get back to their wall and wait for the next mob.
Just my 2cp from a tanks point of view from all the hate raids I've been on.
(And yes, i'm on my last 2 pieces of Indi armor, so I've been on a few)

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
Just wanted to agree with Fiz for the most part. If your a main tank and your holding aggro to get exp until 50 health, which doesnt benifit the raid at all, i will be seeking a trans out.

*Bump* These things, along with a few raids with funky loot distribution, are the reason I called it quits on Hate raids....may have to poke my nose back in and see if the bunch making the rounds now is any better.....

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
At 58th female revs still are trouble MR wise though both they and clerics tend to mez much more easily if you dispell that MR buff they're wearing first. Ashenbones aren't that hard to mez but man they still chew through my hp pronto. It feels like they come in hasted. My overall mob order is a lot like Torgs with Spites, Female revs, thought fiends, Clerics, and Chests in the danger zone. Last mob to go should be a specter since they and most ghouls have mana for chanter theft of thought. I'd add the request that we clean up any mobs in the room before taking hallway mobs when all else is equal. That minimizes broken mezzes, since a mob not in the vicinity is harder to mishit/cast on than one right in the neighborhood.
I've been primary chanter on a lot of raids and I do have one tidbit to add to Torg's advice, specifically, chanters, if you are getting hit as the primary tank breaks a mob you mezzed, run It into the crowd! That lets the whole pile of tanks pound on it quickly, gets it out of the hallway, and substantially reduces the number of times the primary feels compelled to call assist while still in the hallway.
Another nice technique when the primary is on the ball is for him to hail the mob s/he is about to break. This is *not* the /assist me call but rather just a quick warning "I'm about to cut loose on the kira guys, and not the rat or banshee standing next to it". That lets the enchanter who's kira it is mez any other targets they have, and move into the tank areas in advance, aiding in a quick turnover of the mob to the crowd, and minimizing the chance that more mobs break loose should the chanter take a pounding after all.
Finally, for all the tanks there, it's really not enough to just hit the assist key and know all will be well. Given lag, it's quite possible for the primary tank to still be choosing his target while you do this, guarenteeing some broken mezzes. Instead, do two things. First, make sure that you do NOT attack on assist. The command is "/assist off" and it makes sure that lag or an early press do not set you up as the guy the chanters point at. Second, once you've pressed assist, and gotten a mob as your target, stop and LOOK at the target vs what mob was called on the primary tank's "assist me on mob xxxxx" line. If the names are different, keep hitting that key till you get a target that agrees namewise with him, or you see him call out a new target. In high lag areas this will save a lot of chanter hides. Becuase yes, two times in three the mez you break is a mob that still prefers the taste of enchanter blood. They will get back to you later.

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
Ok, from the Chantress side of things.
Not going to repost what has already been said, but some advice if you are brave and you have a cleric that is on the ball.
Enchanters, be the main TAGGER.
When the Monk puller shouts tag, YOU be the one to get it. Get it with Tash, have it targetted before hand, and after you have tashed it, run in with the tanks.
This does three things:
First, this will take a mob off a monk who failed a feign faster than anything.
Second, you have now prepped the mob for slows, mezzes, stuns etc.
Third, it positions the mob exactly where it needs to be, right in the center of a bunch of tanks that want to pound it into paste.
The only mobs this doesnt apply to are Clerics and Female Revs, those hit with either Strip Enchantment or Recant Magic first, THEN tash. It makes mezzing WORLDs easier. And on clerics you have immediately done 500ish points of damage as you take down their hit point buffs.
On Drakes, recant from Range, goto where you want them, then tash, then mez. You need to be in there relatively small melee area to have Mez land, but they are relatively easy to mez if you channel successfully.
On Chests, if its a single pull of a chest, ignore it, dont tash it, dont try and stun, just stay away, it will hit you, and when it hits you it will eat your buffs. Let the tanks take care of them. But if you have to mez one (Multi pull) then recant first, tash, then mez.
Oh, the bard mobs, put them about the same as clerics for mez purposes.

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
Yes, we can be the taggers, I have done it lots myself....
Thanks Torg and your right on with the list, but also what gets the enchanters killed fast is if they try to mez one when a grp of 4 is running at them, when they have only an arrow from the main as agro(because the monk is FD). I started to wait till the mobs were actually engaging someone and lived longer because of it. But alas I say there are some excellent chanters out there and some I trust totally so I didnt have to do this with them.

Good info
WOW after all this time, this page has been used for something beneficial besides reservations. All the information given is very good, and doesnt come from going to Hate only a few times, it comes from experience and time logges into raiding the plane. I must say a Hate raid which is run well is one of the funnest raids to go on in the game with the amount of action/loot drops that you see over a given amount of time. Now we just need a section that over explains break in procedures so i dont have to shout it 15 times when my raid is about to go up, and spread the word about this web page, alot of people new to the planes dont know about tunare.com or this page. Good Info peeps, it has inspired me to lead some more hate raids now =)

This info is very useful. Been on 4 Hate raids and I still dont understand how tanks who has done 10x as many raids cant keep their ass on a 1-foot chain from the wall and doesnt /assist correctly.

Re: Plane of Hate Info for Main tanks....
It's so hard for me not to backseat drive. I just sit there itching to bitch at people that are engaging the mobs in the arch and hallway. Makes me want to park my wiz there to cast trans on people as a warning.
On the other hand, I've been on raids where the main tank stands in the hallway getting aggro (fine)...but doesn't even bother trying to get it into the room. This causes confusion for people who are waiting patiently for assist (unfortunately not nearly enough people), and I often wind up just standing at the wall as the tanks run into the hallway and the mob dies with no assist called. It's not my raid, and I may say once or twice something about no assist, but damn I hate that.
Also: Caster's stay the @#%$ out of my way. It's bad enough having to deal with a big bear ass in the way (yaye, slow!) or an unshrunk fat ass, but I hate having to step over a druid or a mage to get to the mob. I wish I could kick you bastards in the head for doing that (those that don't do it take no offense--I love you forever; those that do it, please die).
