*Welcome Back Dance*The hall was decorated elaborately, just as it always was everytime this year. The festive atmosphere spread onto the middle of the floor, where the tables had been moved to the side of the hall to make room for dancing. There were refreshments conveniently placed outside of the way, and popular wizarding music was already blaring from invisible speakers of sorts in the hall.
The first to arrive was Stephanie Martin, an almost sad look on the normally vivacious blondes face. Her blue eyes showed her downtrodden emotions at this being her last Welcome Back Dance. She hated to think that at the end of this year, this castle, where she had made so many memories, would no longer be her home. She took a seat, wondering when her friends would arrive.

The second to arrive was a familliar blonde bombshell, with an unscathed party radar, even after being encountered with so many parties before. She had on her normal sparkling grin, as well as a black mini skirt, which showed off her favorite asset; her long legs. The skinny, tall girl stood at about 5'8 this year, and was just about done growing. Over her chest was a red deep v-neck shirt, that had a diagonal cut towards the bottom, which showed off some her lean, tan stomach.
Haley immediately spotted one of her close friends, Steph Martin, and walked towards her. The poor girl looked disheartened, and Hal knew exactly why. She sat down across from her at the table, and crossed her legs. "Buck up, Steph. I don't think you'd want people to see that the Mischief Queen of Hogwarts is feeling down." She said, in a feeble attempt to cheer Steph up.

"Mischief queen? Well, I definitely made the right call in thinking you guys were the kind of people I'd like to be around," came the now familiar voice of a Gryffindor. Murph Waldorf was fearless, and a dance was just the kind of place she loved to be, a place full of life and excitement.
"Nice decorations, by the way," Murph added, flipping her dark brown hair over her shoulders. It was straight at the moment, opposite of the curls she had worn when she had met the older girls. Now it showed how much length there truly was to it, cascading past her shoulders onto her deep green tube top. Her thin, tan legs were exposed now in a cutoff denim mini skirt, and she had on strappy green sandals. All of her clothing accentuated her deep green eyes, which were lit up all the more by her brown eyeliner and her long eyelashes.

Haley giggled. "That you did, Murph, that you did." She said, happily. She looked at Murph's outfit, and grinned. "Greens definitely your color, I like it." She complimented, before getting on to talking about anything else.
"Okay, heres the deal. I'm gunna find you a 'dork' by the end of tonight, Murph." She said, confidently. ((well...that is when I get my mind pumping lol))

Tanis appeared to be the 4th one to enter the dance, or party or whatever it really was. Ironic he was a fourth year and the fourth one here. The Great Hall was really decked out. It looks pretty swave, just what it needed for the dance. This feast and then the dance was a great way to get everyone caught up. Many of the students didn't speak much over the summer, and this gave them time to catch up before classes started.
Walking over to the girls, he said, "Hello, how is everyone tonight?"

Haley raised an eyebrow towards Murph, as Tanis approached them. She was giving her the look, which here was a sort of ironic one. "Absolutely peachy...Oh and by the way, this is Murph, that's Steph, and I'm Haley." She said, while gesturing towards her girl friends. She nodded towards Murph, though, and then winked at him, giving him a clue to go talk to Meredith

"Thanks," Murph said appreciatively when Haley told her that green was her color, and then she giggled at the offer to find her a 'dork'.
"Ooooh, just don't let word of your 'dork' finding skills spread... I've got a couple of friends who would be waiting in line," Murph said with a grin. "In fact, they should be here any minute," the brunette informed Haley.
"Oh, I'm great-how are you?" Murph said to Tanis offhandedly. It was her typical mindless response-she wasn't rude, just easily distracted.

True to Murph's word, the group was soon approached by a girl with long blond hair, falling in sheets down her back. She had crystal blue eyes that matched her blue halter top, and she had on white bermuda shorts, revealing the bottom half of her deeply tanned and athletic legs.
"Well hey there, Murph-Murph's new friends. I'm Bridget," the Slytherin said boldly, offering her hand to the others in the circle.

Tanis felt that something was a little bit off. All of this winking and strange looks, wierd indeed. "Well, hello Haley, I am Tanis," he said with a smile. Then he looked at Steph and waved. And turned to Meredith. He walked over to her, and whispered in her ear. "Does Haley not know, that we already know each other?"

"Hey Bee!" Murph exclaimed, hugging her best friend eagerly. "I'm so glad you came!" she added.
"Er-suppose not. Say, where's Gabbarellakins tonight, anyways?" Murph asked. It was quite clear to her that Tanis had a crush on his housemate, who happened to be her gorgeous but shy cousin.

Tanis being a little touchy of the subject of Gabby got defensive. "Why should I know where she is at? She is your cousin. It isn't like I know everything that she does. All I did was ask her to come to a game with me, it isn't like we are going out." His face got very red after he realized what he had just said.

Haley shook Bridget's hand. "I'm Haley," She said, with a grin, to the boisterous blonde Slytherin. She then looked over to Tanis and Murph, and figured out that Tanis had a crush on Murphs cousin, and not Murph. 'Hey, it's not my fault I'm slow...I'm a blonde jesus.' She thought, while mentally smacking herself in the head.

"Woah... hold your fire, there," said another fourth year who had been about to enter the circle, but at Tanis' outburst had jumped backwards and thrown her hands up in the air, chuckling lightly. She had dark red hair and brown eyes, and she was bordering on average in the departments of both height and weight. Which wasn't to say she didn't look great, however. She had on a light pink tank top with red straps, and she wore faded, ripped jeans.
"My names Tally, by the way," she added to the unfamiliar faces, grinning at her best friends Murph and Bridget.

Tanis dropped his gaze to the floor. It wasn't like him to make such outbursts. When Tally yelled he looked up. "Oh um sorry about that Tally, I am Tanis. I really didn't mean for that to happen." Once again his face turned a little red and then regained its normal color.

"Hey, no worries, buddy," Tally said to Tanis with a nonchalant shrug of her bare shoulders. She then turned to Haley.
"Nice to meet ya too-I was wondering when I was finally going to start meeting new people around this place!" Tally said with a wide grin.

Brooke Bovay entered the party, her pink polka dotted skirt swishing with her as she walked. Her dark hair was half up, with her side-swept bangs brushing just above her perfectly made up dark eyes. Her pink halter revealed just the right amount of her toned midriff, and she smiled at the fact that she was finally back where she belonged-at a party. She noticed the group on the other side of the room, but felt no instant need to join them-she could let the party come to her, if it so chose.

"Well, I mean, pretty much everyone here is new to me," Tally said, grinning broadly. "So that leaves me to ask, where is everyone else? I mean, are you and blondie here"-she pointed at Steph-"the only returning students?" she asked teasingly.

And sure enough, in a sense, the party did come to Brooke, as her best friend Kristin entered the Hall, her blue eyes wandering in awe. Her short, flippy light blue skirt rustled in the breeze created by the strawberry blonds brisk steps toward Brooke. She reached her best friend and quickly hugged her, glad to see a familiar face again.
"Hey Brookita-great decorations in here, huh?" Kristin asked, tugging on her black halter top so that it was perfectly positioned on her slender upper body.

Tanis looked around the party. He had regained his composure and said, "Well, It seems that the party is starting now. People are actually starting to come. Yet, I am still the only guy here." Strange, Tanis thought there were more males at Hogwarts last year.
