I have a 1994 3l turbo diesel surf that blew a head gasket,water pump & top radiator well on christmas day...have had the usual runaround re recon at $9-10000, & also a quote for a recon motor $5000 plus about $1500 to refit...does this sound in the ball park? I live in the shepparton area of victoria...does anyone know of mechanics dealing with surfs here? This vehicle is still driveable with good power but very difficult to start...so maybe the bottom end is ok.....so if theres a crack in the head could it be welded or are there new /recon heads available?
