maybe jj should open a question area..well..here's one now!
DnD question for us Fagg's. About the prestige class's, do you have to cross class still, or do you just switch over all together?

*thinks*
I believe you're still cross-classed. It should explain in the Dungeon Master's guide. If it doesn't say anything it is supposed to be cross-classed.

It has been established that persons who have recently died have been returning to life and committing acts of murder. A widespread investigation on reports from funeral homes, morgues, and hospitals has concluded that the unburied dead are coming back to life and seeking human victims.

Yes...... but (under standard campaign rules) gaining the new level costs the number of experience for the next level in the first class. So, let's say you're a level one fighter and you want to go up in mage next level? The experience cost is that for level 2. The same goes for level 2 to 3, 3 to 4, etc...
Also (save for humans) each species has one specific class that's "natural" to them. Halflings, for example, are natural theives. So, if you're a level one fighter and you're a halfling wishing to be a thief next level, you don't take any penalties. If you're a level one fighter and you're a gnome wishing to be a thief next level there's an exp penalty (as described in the book) for multiclassing. Each additional class outside your "natural" one incurs more exp penalties.
Anyhow, now that I've told you how to build a watch, yes. If you're a level one fighter and your BAB is +1 and then you become a barbarian next level your BAB will be +2.
