the ruins of nirvus
ooc: anybody can join, obviously ^_^ specificaly lookin for kay :P

ic:

high up in the mountains of file island, kain stood with kay. it was ice cold, but kain seemed oblivious to it. he was only wearing his normal clothing. other then snow, nothing looked all that special up here, just an empty landscape of white. but he had said something was up here he had to see again.....the snow was caved in at quite a few locations, looking like craters that the snow was trying to fill up

OOC - yeah, yeah. I made it. I'm here. *lobs a peach in your direction* Here Fires.

IC -

Kay stood at the top of the cold, snowcovered peak. Her emerald eyes scanned all around them, pausing as she saw the curious craters in the snow. A bitter wind whipped up and snapped at her. She shivered and drew the heavy cloak tight against her, not being too fond of the cold.

Kay smiled, holding her Spell of Dragons crest up for him to see.

"Aye, I do. ...what are we looking for up here, anyway?"

OOC - long time to reply. not my fault!

ooc: its ok

"you'll see....in a few minutes"

he put out his hand, and a faint blue aura surrounded it, it looked like he was drawing runes in the air

She watched in earnest, setting her hand on his shoulder as she tried to decypher some of the symbols he was using in drawing the air runes. She shivered and kept quiet, interested in his work.

Re: the ruins of nirvus
the runes were completely alien, even to somebody that possably had the great wealth of knowledge that dragons possessed. the runes were hovering in the air after he drew each one, turning a pale violet. after each new rune, they interlocked into what looked like some form of chain

"there didnt used to be such harsh security to get through here, but the plainswalker ryuhal changed that...."

the chain continued as each new rune was formed, kain was at about 30 runes, if kay had been counting, and he was still going

Kay nodded, knowing that there was little chance that she would be able to understand any of the runes' symbols, but she watched anyway, partially out of curiosity, and partially out of awe.

She could never do anything like that...

She kept silent, not wanting to disturb him as he worked on the code, or password... or whatever the runes were to represent. She praised the dragons, that she had patience, for she got the feeling that maybe they would be standing in the snowy mountains for a bit.

Re: the ruins of nirvus
it wasnt really all that long, another few seconds. the runes split apart and formed a circle in the air verticaly, then started to spin around. energy crackled between them and the air seemed to tear open. a grey nothingness was in the center of the runes, which had formed a gate

"through here kay...and we're almost there"

She looked into the grey portal, wondering what could possibly be on the other side. Maybe if she knew what some of the runes said, she would know....

"Where does it lead?"

She felt a shiver run up her spine. She wasn't overly fond of the Digital World in the first place, and now she was traveling to Nirvus--a place that sounded even more frightening. Her mind flared, quelling any fear she felt, and replaced it with resolve. She was just jumping ahead of herself again. She offered Kain a small smile, her fear melting away.

"theres nothing to worry about kay.....Nirvus is where i lived for a few years. i would have died if the keeper hadnt taken me into her care. its a shame you can never meet her.....she was the mother i never had"

he smiled back and stepped through the gray nothingness of the gate

Kay only nodded, not quite sure what Kain had meant, when he said that she could never meet the 'keeper'. She followed Kain into the gray nothingness silently, more confident in knowing that, if Kain liked Nirvus, it shouldn't be as bad as the rest of the DW...

Re: the ruins of nirvus
the grey surrounded her compeltely, and for a second, she couldnt breathe. in the space of three heartbeats though, she was standing with kain. the area was a paradise.....rolling green fields that were to green to be natural. the sky was a perfect blue, also to clear to be possable on earth beacuse of pollution. there were mountains surrounding the area, but they were very distant, lavender triangles in the background. birds flew overhead, and the sun was shining. the only thing that didnt seem perfect in this world was in what looked to be the center of the plains....probobly a half days walk away, was a blackened, fire charred tower, or part of one anyway. it lay in ruins, debris scattered for miles around, dotting the plains as far as the eye could see. probobly even in the mountains

"welcome to Nirvus"

Re: the ruins of nirvus
Kay reached her hand up, clasping it around a dragon-shaped pendent on her necklace as she took in the beauty of Nirvus. It looked a lot like the DragonLands--but there was something here that even that mystic place was lacking...

Her eyes rested on the charred towers, black against the surrounding green and blue. She frowned, pulling a lock of hair out of her face so she could see the ruins more clearly.

"What is that place?"

"this was my home for a long time.....until a few months ago actualy. Ryuhal attacked and destoyed this place....he was trying to destroy the digital world. getting rid of Nirvus is a good way to do it. Asteamon was able to use her life force to kep Nirvus from falling apart long enough for me to seal Ryuhal into the fire plains.....thats the battle where i lost Wyvernmon.....in the same day, i lost everything i had ever cared about....my brother, mother, best friend, and home...."

Re: the ruins of nirvus
Kay stepped up to Kain, resting her hand on his shoulder silently. She wasn't sure what to say, exactly. Pain like this, she knew, wasn't something you could just fix all at once.. she studied the ruins a little more carefully, using a bit of magic to aid her sight as she scanned the destroyed towers. It looked quite the mess, from where she stood. She wondered why Kain would ever want to go back to something like this..

Re: the ruins of nirvus
her sight showed her that the ruins were pretty much what she saw from where she was standing. blackened, sparking, charred ruins, nothing left at all. there was something about Nirvus that was making it hard for her to use magic sight, it was interfering with her powers badly

kain noticed the look in kay's eyes and put his hand over them

"dont try to use your powers here kay, magicians arent welcome in Nirvus. not after what Ryuhal did"

Kay let the magic wither out of her sight, returning her vision to normal. She looked up at Kain, with a mixed expression.

"..Then why did you bring me here? You know I am a mage."

"you dont have to use your powers you know"

he smiled faintly

"besides, im a mage also....although of a much different nature. my powers are all digital"

he slowly started to walk with her

"i brought you with me because theres something i left behind, that i needed to get. simple enough normaly......but i had to bring you with me, because i dont think im brave enough to leave once i go in that tower. this world is the sum of all my pain Kay.....its very tempting to simply lay down and let time take me away, to end it all...."
