Personal Bio :: He leaves his horse in the dunes, walks up the estuary in the last minutes before the light comes, stopping a few paces from the bridge where her figure begins to form out of the pre-dawn dark.
She is standing in the river, naked above the waist, her skirt a knot around her hips. Still as a heron, as if she has seen a fish among the ripples. But when the first sun comes she stretches, the dark leaves of her hair falling like spirals of midnight rain. She tilts forward, flicks her hair down over the water, then plunges her arms deep within it, drawing handfuls up and over her. Repeating the delicate sweep of movements over and over until she is the deep bronze of the river and then she leans once more, so far this time that her nose and mouth glance against the surface, her breath setting it shimmering. Her body and her shadow touch, forming a ring above and within the water. She and shadow, she and the river. She touches her lips against the water, once, twice, as if they are lovers. Then she straightens, glides up out of the water and away.
