what did GoD to your guild ?
just to have a general feeling .
Mine is just about to die , we were on way to time ,and many peeps moveloged to GoD guilds , or stopped EQ disguted by this expansion they were waiting .

we've lost at least one person confirmed to to inablity to play anymore. was our best shammie.
as for raids, basically we're down to zero risk events now. mob warping. getting stuck on the terrain. falling through the terrain to die randomly. none of these are helpfull to an already risky raid.

While GoD itself didn't do much to us, the DX9 brokeness has kept a noticeable number of people out of action. After weeks of having your computer randomly crash or not properly run EQ at all, who blames them for giving up?

Nobody blames them. Everybody should blame Sony for milking us without providing polished content, basic debugging, funneling content and yet another U-turn in guild sizes after PoP.
But no fear, they'll spend OUR hard earned money on a game we mostly WON'T want to pay for, aka EQ2.

try being a raidleader and pushing throughcontent in pop with 40-50 folk during all these bugs.
I'm on a ravishing burnout streak atm... 305 days played, 5 years, and I think I'd rather stab myself with a spork then play EQ.
My eyes feel like they're gonna bleed.

On the positive side, GoD gave the high-end guilds on our server somewhere else to go - freeing up a lot of old world content for my guild. We've been farming Sleeper's Tomb, Avatar of War, and Akheva Ruins without worry of a big EP guild charging in and taking out the targets.

This is why high end expansions are good for smaller, more casual, guilds.

In theory that's true, however, it's still not that uncommon to log in on the weekends for raids, only to find little to nothing up.
We've had a few weekends now where we've had to call things off due to the lack of targets available. When you only raid 1 or 2 days a week, a day of no targets can seriously hamper your progression. If you're in a raiding guild, imagine a full week of no targets.

Lots of Elemental guilds on Rodcet farm ST, AoW, Tormax and such for twinks as well.

Since GoD release and the DX9 debacle my raiding guild has lost over 10 essentially permanently quit and another 10-15 playing Lineage 2 or barely logging on to EQ.
It has been a disaster for us.

OT - Acturian d00d its Teikkin Tournnament =D Remember me from Quell? We leveled up on those aviaks fast as hell y0~ Good times and nice to see your elemental too.
Anyway - Dx9 hurt our guild more then GoD because we aren't elemental yet: our VT clears were becoming undoable as mobs continue to fall through the world, and better yet, onto us from the floor above bringing a world of adds and wipes. Until this is fixed we are constantly losing members because people think if they leave a VT guild they will find more luck in elementals. They might be right, I don't know since I am only sol ro, but I think they are making the wrong decision. Numerous people are quitting EQ all together too because it seems to take up too much time especially in the timeframe of March - April

GoD did nothing to the guild I'm a recruit for. They're happily raiding the new GoD zones. How exactly could it change anything?

GoD has had a rough effect on most high-end guilds. Uqua has been a complete crapbuster of a zone...and the raid content before Uqua is crap.
After weeks of doing the same zone over and over and over and over (ikkinz), and wiping at Uqua over and over and over...people are just getting tired.
If you'll check around you'll see that most of the top guilds have opened up recruiting again, because of the lack of people playing.

All I wanted for a while now is a new "velious" but noooooooo they have to get all fancy and stuffs and chase people off. (snide voice intended).
